I am a community-based researcher, facilitator, and artist, focusing on education and human development in each of those areas. I received my M.S. Ed in 2012 from Bank Street College of Education in Leadership in Community-Based Learning. Participation and Transformation have been the through-lines in all my work. I have come to understand that the processes underlying art-making, education, and efforts for self and community development result from people’s participation in them, and that the deeper the participation, the deeper the experience. In all my experiences working with youth and communities in arts education and leadership development, I found I was most interested in the underlying processes that went into those experiences. I have been profoundly transformed by work in personal empowerment work and Participatory Action Research, seeing the great impact both can have in individuals, communities, and organizations.
