Clarissa Burton, EdS, AKA Queen of the Pen, is an educator, published author, poet, essayist, blogger, and public speaker having been published in the Charleston Post-Courier, the KC Star, Flourish Mag, the KC Small Biz Monthly as well as several online blogs. Clarissa is a former adjunct professor for Ottawa University – Kansas City Campus and has worked for the following school districts: Kansas City (MO), Blue Springs (MO), Lee’s Summit (MO), Glenview School District (IL), and Sunset Ridge (IL). She has also worked as an Information Technology and Training Project Manager having been the Ewing Kauffman FastTrac™ coordinator for two small businesses. Clarissa has developed and written several courses: The Black Family Tree™ Genealogy and Creating Young Authors courses and manuals. She has written dozens of Standard Operating Procedures for government and private organizations. Clarissa is a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) and has served as a Toastmasters Club President, VP Education, and VP Public Relations as well as presented more than fifty educational workshops. Clarissa is a Navy veteran having served from 1984 to 1990. She has a B.A. in Psychology, an M.A. in Business, and an EdS in Adult Education. Clarissa currently lives in the Midwest.
