About
Cynthia Love Brewer
Cynthia (Cindy) was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1980. She suffered from relapsing and remitting MS symptoms for nineteen years and was put on Dr. Roy L. Swank’s Low-fat Diet for MS, which should have helped her if she had followed the diet better. While experiencing some MS symptoms for more than twelve weeks in 1999, Cindy and her husband attended a procession of the Holy Eucharist on the feast day of Christ the King. As she joined in the procession the thought came to her mind, “I can be healed if I just look upon Jesus in the Eucharist.” She did not arrive at the procession seeking a healing. This thought, coupled with the story of the woman healed of a hemorrhage by touching the hem of Jesus' robe, just entered her mind. During the procession and homily, Cindy contemplated these words a few times as she gazed at the Eucharist. Following the event, as she and her husband approached their car, she noticed all the symptoms had disappeared. Twenty-seven years later (2026), she remains symptom-free and still does not follow a special diet. Thanks be to God! She began her writing career that same year. The following year, she became the editor of The Catholic Lighthouse, the official newspaper of the Diocese of Victoria in Texas, where she remained for thirteen years. Cindy received the Archbishop Edward T. O'Meara Award--Honorable Mention 2011. Cindy has contributed to CatholicMom.com and the Gardener’s Dirt column in the Victoria Advocate newspaper.
