Born on April 5, 1949 in Albany, New York. I’m a middle child, brother and sister above, three sisters below. I prefer the middle you’re on your own there. I began college at the University of Missouri in 1967 and graduated from there in August of 1981. To this day I am a slow learner. I have hitchhiked over 50,000 miles, and that is not hyperbole. I learned more on the road than I ever did in college. The most interesting job I ever had was as a psychiatric aide at the Mid-Missouri Mental Health Center. I met my true love, Karen, in Columbia in 1975. We met in church. True love has not been at all like I expected. I’m glad. Parenting is God’s way of teaching us unconditional love. I was called to be a teacher. I am calling out to be a writer. The empty nest is not such a bad thing. I believe my best golf is still ahead of me. Truly. - Dallin Malmgren
