Madea Bailey, professionally known as Da Truth Da Poet, is a successful poet, teacher, mentor, and motivational speaker hailing from Baltimore, MD. Not many have been able to make a career out of poetry, but her determination and love for her craft has made it possible. At the age of 17, she won 3rd place in the NAACP’s Act-So national competition. This fueled her desire to accomplish much more and she did just that. She later produced 7 sold out productions, received the Baltimore Crown Award for Poet of the Year in 2021, and has employed over 100 artists for different platforms. Not only has Truth been a powerhouse in the art community, she has also been an asset in our school systems, voluntarily devoting herself to be an active aide in strengthening social awareness and change.
