About
Robert Brews
Bob was born and raised in Leslie, Fife, thousands of years ago and was raised by his parents, Mary and Charlie who always thought he was old for his age. He wasn’t a big achiever at school, being only 23 inches tall in primary, where he never felt too fit. Bob was blessed with two sisters, Margaret and Caroline but loved him as much as any sisters could, although there was a certain amount of jealousy in the fact that Margaret had only one sister whilst Bob had two. He started work in the paper mill when he was sixteen but had to give that up when it was blown away by a big gust of wind. As an electrician he served his time there, which was sometimes a shocking experience but he couldn’t resist the challenge. Bob started writing in his twenties and gained a lot of his stories from his jobs and workmates and was really upset when they asked for them back! It was his wife and his dear friend Dennis (No, Dennis was not his wife, Sally was his wife, but I digress) who encouraged him to publish his poems and writings and he hasn’t stopped since. And so, up to date, Bob has eight books and gets constant letters from the local library asking for them back, and to pay the fine which would settle the national debt. His friend, Davy Lees, is a sounding board and a proof reader for Bob’s poems and uften coorects his spooling mastiaks. Many thanks for reading, and hopefully enjoying, the volume of poems, although, so as not to upset your neighbours, turn the sound down a bit.... .
