Born Diane E. Davis, on December 1, 1947 to a family of eight girls and four boys, 12 family siblings in all. I grew up on the south side of the "Windy City", of Chicago, Illinois, attended both Catholic and public schools, and also attended a state university, majoring in Business Administration. Married 57 years to my high school sweetheart, Lucius Johnson, Sr., we were blessed with three sons, Lucius, Jr., Carl, and Joey, four granddaughters, and one grandson. Bowling was part of my passion, and I was also actively involved in my church’s Food Pantry , praise dancing, and bible classes. My husband and I are presently involved in her co-operative housing unit, volunteering their time for special events, fund raising, and tree planting. We have lived there for 47 years. Beginning in 1987, my oldest son, Lucius, Jr. received a diagnosis of HIV. To track his illness, I started documenting his doctor visits and medications on ledger notes. I also began maintaining a health journal to record our sons' medical appointments and prescribed medications. Over time, this journal expanded into a comprehensive Medical & Dental Health Journal, complete with sections for Family, History, Prescriptions, and Notes. Unfortunately, as time passed, Lucius's HIV progressed to AIDS, and in the autumn of 1999, we lost our beloved son.
