Writer and martial artist Darin Waugh began training in the martial arts after seeing a Bruce Lee movie at a drive-in theater in 1976. Mr. Waugh graduated from The Ohio State University (OSU) in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in health education. While at OSU, Mr. Waugh trained at and became an instructor for the multi-art Do-Jung-Ishu Club. He spent over twenty years with Do-Jung-Ishu, teaching hundreds of students and developing his expression of martial arts called Sticky Boxing. Mr. Waugh currently works on various martial arts writing projects through his publishing company, Enthusiast Works. He emphasizes the practical application of martial arts techniques (to meet the reality of fighting) and the “art” of martial arts to create innovative training methods.
