Hmmmm…… an interesting bit of introspection. I’m a 59 year old steel worker. I’m trying to understand my place. The tool I am currently using in zazen. I’ve been sitting 30 minutes in the morning.. For the last several year I’ve been studying atheism and free thinking philosophy. I currently have very little belief in the supernatural. The sticking point for me is having read some newer stuff on quantum mechanics dealing with the multi-verse and the mat theory. I do not feel that it is rational to be a complete non-believer in light of this new information. Although the belief in an ultimate creator/being would seem on the illogical on the surface, with current knowledge, the introduction of the multi-verse does seem to through a monkey wrench into the works. So in the end I do know that I’m not that bright and all that I can do is work on myself and try to be the best person I can be.
