MISHUNDA (WALLACE) MATHIS, who has defined herself as a writer and a poet since the days of her youth, is known for wearing her literary heart and soul on her sleeves. Never one to fear the embarrassment of having her pain put on display for others to see, she is widely regarded as possessing the innate ability to be honest with herself and her audience through her written and spoken words. She is known on the spoken word scene as Miss Mai and has been perfecting her spoken craft for nearly a decade. She has recorded two CDs and lends her unique flow to conferences, open mics, churches and weddings. She is never not working on some book, having several in various stages of completion. Mishunda presently makes her home in Kansas City.
