I live in the northwoods of Michigan. My hobbies are gardening and playing with my herbs. I am retired from the accounting/agriculture world and am now working at living, instead of living at work. My dream is to live in a self-sustainable way. My soul mate, Bill and I are planning to build a wind powered system for our power. We love to garden and have about 3/4 of an acre. It has to have an electric fence around it to keep the deer out, so we do need the power. We are now in our first year of living in the north, we hope by next year to have chickens and pygmy goats. My herb garden is doing well. We were part timers here for two years and I got it started the first year we bought the place. I hope to be able to have excess herbs to sell in the next few years. I write under the name Martha Powers. Martha is my first name, which I have never used, and Powers is my maiden name.
