As an American living in and loving Nepal, I feel sad when I read my country's 'Fact Book' page. It is just so wrong and unfair to portray Nepal as if it were a dangerous place. If you were in the US, would you be well advised to jump on the back of a young man's motorcycle and invite him up for tea? If you are in Nepal it is quite fine because the odds of someone harming you is pretty small-infinitely small. This happened to me a couple weeks ago and I didn't even think about it being odd until later that day when I realized I could never do that back home. Until very recently there hasn't been much written about Nepal. Things change here so quickly, too. So I wrote a guidebook that tells you everything that isn't covered elsewhere-Things like how much things really should cost, what to do if things go wrong, what to bring so you don't need two suitcases, and a myriad of free and money-saving things to do or buy to take home. I love Nepal and I know you will, too!
