Geoff Tate was born in 1928 at Gateshead on Tyne. Like many “Geordies”, he has travelled much since then! Geoff saw Army service in the Far East, after which he went to Southampton University before emigrating to Southern Rhodesia. He lived there for 20 years returning to the U.K. in 1972, complete with wife and two baby adopted daughters, to seek a fresh start after Rhodesia was no more. He entered Local Government in Britain, his last post being with the Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service from which he retired in 1988. He says that the last approximately twenty five years spent in unaccustomed idleness have given him the time needed to clarify his spiritual hopes and beliefs. He adds that he has attempted this codification of them in the sincere hope that it may help other searchers for similar assurance.
