About
Stephanie S. Tackett

I've been making reborn baby dolls since 2002. I began teaching others to make and paint them in 2004. I also began learning to sculpt original baby dolls from polymer clay that year, and soon thereafter went to work with Pat Secrist of Secrist Doll Co. in Midland MI where I learned production doll sculpting. He needed an experienced artist to help him make teaching DVDs for painting with Genesis ™ Heatset Paints, and Rooting Reborn Dolls as well as several classroom DVDs. In 2007, I struck out on my own having my own original doll kits produced. I taught live reborning classes at venues such as IDEX and Sauder Village Annual Doll Shows. I've been honored with several sculpting and reborning awards over the years, including the 2007 Inspiration Award at IDEX in Las Vegas. In 2009 I opened my online store. In 2011 I wrote my first tutorial book on reborning baby dolls beginning to end, using Genesis paints. Then in 2013 I decided to develop an air-dry reborn paint as an alternative to baking vinyl dolls in home ovens. That was the beginning of "WaterBorne ™ Air Dry Paints" which have become quite successful.
