Ian likes to set his stories in and around the town of Rotherham, England, where he lives. Born in 1968, he is the youngest son of a coal miner, and studied at Sheffield Hallam University where he gained a HND in Computer Studies in 1990. Since then, he has worked for over 30 years as an office administrator in various industries, and always had the ambition to write a novel. It wasn't until April 2020, that he started to write his first novel, which became the paranormal romance, Absent Friends. He has always been a fan of crime fiction, therefore his second novel, Deadly Intentions, introduced Detective Inspector Solomon Rice and his colleagues at Rotherham CID.
