Raised in Jamaica,NY, with two siblings by a Dominican mother (Yolanda Garcia) and Cuban father (Guillermo Tersy) whom left their native countries in 1960. I attended TMLA (Jamaica Est.), and after HS moved to Miami, FL, to attend college. I earned a BA in Psych/MSW from FIU (FL-LCSW). A self-published poet & author of (3) books: Letters (2004), Wind (2009), and Our Last Weekend (2010). I am a former Ms. Miami-USCC (2003). A member of: VONA, MDC Elections Board, DEC, Orange Bowl Committee, and La Allianza Hispana. Married to my husband, Bryan Tuzo, since 2006, and living in Cutler Bay, FL, with our two sons: William and Jason. My stepdaughter, Tabitha, resides in Queens, NY.
