Janelle Battle is a Black Christian woman and devoted wife to Le-Roy Battle III. She is the daughter of Vincent and Joy Briscoe, granddaughter of Vincent and Joan Briscoe and Matthew and Darlene Gallashaw, and proudly embraces her roles as a sister, godmommy, and friend. She is grace personified. Professionally, Janelle is a project manager and social justice advocate with a master’s degree in Communication, specializing in Human Resources. Beyond her professional life, Janelle’s personal journey has been shaped by faith, resilience, and healing. In 2020, she was diagnosed with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), a severe and life-altering form of PMS that impacts both mental and physical health. Navigating life with PMDD led her through seasons of rest, reflection, and renewal. Through therapy, medication, and an unwavering faith in God, Janelle has learned to pursue healing while holding space for joy— even in the midst of ongoing challenges. This devotional was born out of Janelle’s desire to remain rooted in Christ while navigating the highs and lows of PMDD. Her prayer is that each page offers comfort, hope, and reassurance that God’s grace meets us in our most vulnerable moments. With authenticity and tenderness, Janelle invites women to draw closer to Elohim, our Creator, and to see themselves more clearly through the lens of God’s enduring love.
