John completed his BSc and PhD in Chemistry at University College Cork, where he also won the UCC Doctoral Showcase and the Inorganic Chemistry Award at the National Irish Chemistry Colloquium. He has wrote numerous articles for the Cork Evening Echo, UCC Express Newspaper and UCC Motley Magazine and was also a finalist at the Oxygen Student media Awards two years in a row. John also has extensive live media experience from radio stations including RTE Radio 1, Cork’s Red FM, UCC 98.3fm and RTE 2fm, as well as TV stations such as RTE 1, TV3 and TG4. Recently John was the recipient of the 2013 SAAI Entrepreneur of the Year Award and coached the winning 2013 UCC International Graduate Competition (IGC) team in Montreal. He also won a Bronze award at the 2014 Irish National Startup Awards.
