Philadelphia artist, Karen Kalbacher started her art career by making a birdbath (complete with bird) out of clay in kindergarten. When she learned to read and write, fiction became her first love, closely followed by art. She attended Community College of Philadelphia as an English Major/Art Minor before transferring to the Art Institute of Philadelphia where she became an animation major. She graduated in Winter 2000 with an Associates Degree in Specialized Technology (Animation.) Since graduation, Karen has worked for a number of different companies. She has designed company websites, logos and done illustrations for the boardhgame Franchi$it while working for Mediacraft.com-a small web design company in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Several of her short stories have been published on the web and she has done band interviews for Origivation Magazine and ghosted articles for various websites. She owns & operates: 1 Fuzzy Monster an Illustration & Handmade Goods Company.
