About
Kathy Simmons
Kathy Simmons is a Certified Recovery Coach, author, speaker, and the founder of The Other Side of Rock Bottom, a thriving recovery community and storytelling platform. With over a decade of lived experience in long-term recovery, Kathy writes from the intersection of healing, hope, and hard-earned wisdom. Her work is deeply rooted in trauma-informed recovery, grief, addiction, and personal transformation. Drawing from her own journey through loss, addiction, and profound rebuilding, Kathy creates books and workbooks designed to meet people exactly where they are—whether they are navigating early recovery, grief, mental health challenges, or simply learning how to live life on life’s terms. Kathy is known for her honest, compassionate, and relatable voice. She believes recovery is not about perfection, but progress, connection, and learning to stand in truth without shame. Through her writing, coaching, and community leadership, she empowers others to turn pain into purpose and to discover that healing is possible—even after rock bottom. When she’s not writing or hosting recovery meetings, Kathy is a jewelry designer, podcast host, and devoted mother and grandmother. Above all, she is passionate about helping others realize there is real, meaningful life on the other side of rock bottom.
