Hi readers, I have written a series of very personal, and it has to be said, quite graphic stories, based upon my experiences growing up and living with Bi Polar Disorder. Begining in my early teens, I have attempted to capture the journey I have travelled, as the first symptoms of what would develop into a serious mental illness began to take hold of me. Bi polar Disorder (formerly know as Manic Depression) effects sufferers in many different ways. The primary symptoms are typically periods of mania, or "highs", followed by periods of severe depression - the "lows". The mania can manifest itself in many ways - aggression, paranoia, creativity, delusions of grandeur, supreme self confidence, insomnia etc. In my case, the manic cycles brought with them periods of increased sexual appetite, promiscuity and risk taking. Throughout my teens and into my twenties these manic periods became uncontrollable. My stories try to make sense of what happened to me during those years.
