About
Kamryn Riona Mello
I'm Kamryn Riona Mello, twenty-five, and residing in Burlington, Iowa. My first book "Seventeen Years of Bad Luck" was self-published at eighteen and "The Deathbeds We Create and How To Crawl Out Of Them" at twenty- one. My latest work is "Hierath" which I completed at twenty-four. What a difference in mindsets, age and maturity just in that narrow gap. I write with the hopes of helping people know they are not alone in their suffering. It is entirely human and okay to sometimes indulge in self-pity or bad feelings (but in moderation.) I hope to translate these messages through my various poems. They touch on heavier concepts of trauma, tragedy, death, suicide, grief, loss, heartbreak, abuse, and mental illness. While, reinforcing my belief that it is possible to keep hope alive when enduring hard times. I remain inspired and filled with tremendous gratitude and hope for new things every day. You're loved and you matter. With great love, KRM
