Independent in nature and highly spiritual in all positive philosophies and cultures of life, L. D. Merritt is a crusader of heeding one's own personal callings such as described in Paulo Coelho's, "The Alchemist." Attributing much of her observation of numinous-self through the eyes of mustangs, Merritt remains on a continuous journey of the equine spirit, ever embracing all things of flight. A BA History major with honors, University of South Carolina, Columbia, Merritt would discover her major in the language of Equus while living, working and schooling at Flag Is Up, Solvang as a student of Monty Roberts, would be her true calling. Innate from her father, along with the facilitation by the man now the posthumous love of her life, Merritt considers herself blessed having been accepted by many equine bands across the US and the Caribbean. Persistent in her endeavor to keep this animating force alive, Merritt continues her work in many equine venues.
