My name is Lawrence Rasberry, that’s Rasberry without a “p” and yes, I’m a country boy! I was country when Barbara Mandrell wasn’t cool and I was drinking peanuts in my Coke long before she sang a song about it. A lot of you may not even know who Barbara Mandrell is, but for those of you that do, you will know what I’m talking about. I was raised on a farm in southwestern Louisiana, in the small community of Grant, but most folks in the community say they are from Fairview, which is the name of the school. Grant is in the middle of nowhere, we use to joke that we had to pipe in sunshine. It’s a country community that is far from the fast pace world that most people live in today.
