Lynn Quire is the author and illustrator of Momma Squirrel's Stories. She gets her inspiration for Momma and all the characters from the wildlife in her Louisville, Kentucky, urban garden, and the surrounding parks. Her first book, Momma Squirrel's Rainbow Lesson, was published as a gift to her children and grandchildren and is based on actual events. Momma did steal the flags and they were whisked into the yard magically.
