MaryAnn was born in Colorado. She has been writing since she was six years old. However, because of the many moves she made after she got married, she has lost all of her early writings. She enjoyed reading and sharing stories of all types. When she was a substitute, she used to play a game with her students. If they were good, they could try to “stump” her. They would give her a noun and a verb and a type of story and she would have to create a story. If she couldn’t, they “stumped her.” She always came up with a story. The students enjoyed watching the story coming to life in front of them. She was a librarian in Colorado and Arizona schools. While at these schools, she told many stories. She also taught computer skills at the schools and became interested in providing books over the Internet. She is now retired and lives in Washington with her husband and their dogs. She has never seen a ghost, elves, Santa Claus, or a leprechaun. Still, she does not rule out their existence.
