Mary is the youngest of the seven children of Fred & Freda Suther. She has a B.S. in Human Resources from Friends University and is the mother of three. She and her husband Alvin have lived in Frankfort, KS; Colorado Springs, CO: McPherson, KS; Coldwater, KS; Frankfort (again); Wamego, KS; and finally in Topeka, KS. She had a custom draperio and interior decor business for 12 years before settling on a career with the state of Kansas. Her creative outlet has an interest and participation in many arts and crafts including tole painting, song writing, candle and soap making, jewelry, growing and spinning cotton and of course, publishing the books featured here on lulu.com. Mary found lulu.com in its early years on the internet when she was looking for an inexpensive way to get her cookbook in print. Not wanting to make an investment in many copies of it that in turn she would have to market, lulu's "print on demand' business plan was an excellent fit.
