Mischa Popoff grew up on an organic grain farm in Saskatchewan. He earned his B.A. (with Hons.) specializing in the history of the development of nitrogen, and then worked for five years as an IOIA Advanced Organic Farm and Process Inspector, inspecting over 500 organic farms and processing facilities across Canada and the United States. He left the inspection business when he realized there was no appetite to eliminate fraud and gross negligence or improve the quality of organic food. He currently works as a political columnist and radio host in British Columbia.
