Ian Henderson, a Partner in MLG Management Consultants, has spent twenty-odd years dividing his time between interim management and consultancy. ‘Planning and Control of Engineer-to-Order (ETO) Manufacturing’ reflects his experience in businesses designing and making to order. ‘ERP From The Front Line’, a novel, charts the progress of a unit with fictional IME Corporation. It has successfully adopted the ideas of Lean and is making good use of its existing business system but receives an order from Corporate HQ to implement the sophisticated (and also fictional) SCX package. Ian is a member of the Steering Group of the Institute of Operations Management, the UK’s professional body for this discipline, is a lecturer on a number of the Institute’s courses and has spoken at a number of events on a national and regional basis for the IOM and other organisations including various bodies with the UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
