Gena Baxter was born and raised in Xenia, Ohio. She loves kids and she loves to write. When she was a little girl, she would play pretend as a teacher. Gena loved kids so much that when she was in the 7th grade, she began babysitting for one of her teachers. She not only had babysitting jobs all the way up until she was in her early 40’s, but she was also a school teacher for several years. Gena began writing poetry in her mid 20’s (which she still continues writing today), and she wrote her first children’s book, “My Bestest Friend”, in the late 1990’s. That book was placed on the shelf for several years due to the expensive cost of publishing. After discovering the option of self-publishing, Gena was able to publish her first children’s book in 2021. She hopes her readers enjoy her creations. Stay tuned for more of her work to come!
