Helen Edmond married James L. Bevel and they had five children. She became the family historian and became well versed in the history of the human and civil rights movement. She lectured about the movement thru out the 80's and later retired from the lecture circuit. She turned her interest to fertility awareness which for her was the nonviolent solution to abortion. She taught classes and lectured to teach females to make their first choice before sex takes place whether to achieve or avoid conception, by knowing the 7 day window of fertility/ She continues to teach fertility awareness to this day to help stem the tide of abortion as birth control.
