A native of South Alabama, Nicole Copeland began writing at an early age but began seriously in high school. There she found a fire within that she had no idea was burning. Through encouragement from her high school English/Creative Writing teacher she attended the Young Author's Conference sponsored by Troy State University in 1991 and knew at that moment she wanted to become a writer professionally. After gradating from TROY University with her B.S. in English and Creative Writing, and her Masters in Education she decided to follow her dream of writing full time. In the Fall of 2014 her first book, Ragamuffin, was published. It would be the first in the Broken Dolls series (YA Realistic Fiction) and followed in 2015 by Beautifully Haunted. In 2017 Ragamuffin was nominated for and a finalist in the Authors Excellence Awards for Best Dramatic Fiction. After a break due to life lifing she finished and published her first non-fiction: Biscuits, Babies, and Babies: A Southern Memoir in spring of 2026.
