About
Trevor Ahmed
Trevor Ahmed lives with his wife and children in the Ghettos of Mariannridge, Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. After qualifying as a motor mechanic with Mercedes-Benz he swooped his overalls to go full throttle driving a brick-dodging taxi named Orange. A taxi that carried more than passengers. It carried stories. Stories of breakdowns, gogos with groceries on their heads, gossip, gangsters and the community that raised him. Trevor started the Villagers Feeding Scheme during Covid with just a pot and a van and now teaches motor mechanics to unemployed youth in his community. Orange Ghetto is his second book. Trevor Ahmed has gone from the everyday chaos and madness of thug life surviving the streets to serving the streets.
