Raised on a turkey ranch in Porterville, California, George Blackburn overcame childhood dyslexia, which hindered his reading until age 20. With the support of a college professor and the resources of a learning center, he successfully pursued higher education. George earned an Associate of Science in Physical and Natural Science from Porterville College (1991), a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a Biology concentration from California State University, Bakersfield (1995), and a Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Phoenix (2011). Beyond his academic achievements, George developed practical skills in auto mechanics and construction. He now applies his personal experience with adversity to his career as a Licensed Clinical Therapist and Supervisor. With over 15 years of experience in correctional and rehabilitation settings, he specializes in addiction recovery, Comorbidity, and crisis intervention, dedicated to helping others navigate their own challenges.
