B.A., M.A., Ph.D. in philosophy, 1956-66 Magi Lamp and Ima Potter are two of Richard's pen names. Richard's interests, studies and indeed passions for philosophy and ceramics are amply evident in these books -- evidencing as well, his "preaching and practicing' both for more than half a century. In retrospect, Richard says, "Philosophy and Pottery have been mutually enhancing over the years as a 'companionship' balancing my needs 'to think' and 'to touch' in this world of concepts and percepts. I often wonder what would have become of me, were I to have had one without the other."
