Gene Ballentine Rooks has been doing genealogy on her family and that of her husband's, Victor Bert Rooks, for over 30 years. She is not a professional genealogist, but has taken family clues she started out with, and worked back up each line, confirming the details and gathering as much information as she could on the ancestors so they would be more than just names and dates. Some very surprising connections have been discovered, and she has been able to get back to the emigrant ancestor on almost all lines. To make the information more complete and interesting to current descendants, she has also followed down the siblings of the grandparents and great grandparents and contacted as many of these cousins as possible to include them down to the present day.
