Scott Helsom is a Vietnam Era veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served shore duty at Cecil Field Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida and aboard the USS America from 1973 to 1977. His primary career was in social work serving disabled adults in both private and state (Arizona) run programs. Following retirement from state service, Scott drove commercial trucks over the road for five years. He still drives locally in Phoenix part time. Scott's writing career began in the early 90's when he produced "The Unvieling". In 2014 he began work on "Last Man Out". This work was written in close cooperation with Malcolm Eckley, about whose war experiences the story describes. Scott and his wife Sandra have two adult children, Shaun and Sarah as well as two granddaughters, Lydia and Juliet. Another book is in the works.
