I originally started this story in 1988 on a simple yellow legal pad. I managed to write three chapters before losing the notepad. Fast-forward to 2009, when we decided to lower our cost of living since, our two girls were mostly grown up and on their own. In the move, my wife discovered the long-lost idea. After reading it, she thought I should try to finish it, telling me it was pretty good. To back up just a bit, in 2001 my wife was hit with a rare neurological illness. It took two days at a world-class hospital to figure out what was wrong with her. From that moment on, I have had a dream of finding a way to shed more light on this cruel illness that steals away someone's way of life, virtually overnight. I finished this novel for my wife. On November 25, 2001, my wife was a healthy, active, athletic and independent woman. By the end of the next day, she was paralyzed from the neck down.
