Let me introduce myself. I am Gianfranco De Mattia. I think about myself as an aficionado rather than an amateur golfer, and as such, I wrote this work putting into words my interest and pleasure. Form and content resemble the typical features of a handy, updated pocket vade mecum. It is useful for those people wanting to approach the game of golf, that is, in the words of the great Severiano Ballesteros, during an interview, “actually, a not so easy game.” It is not a coincidence that analysts compare this sport to pole vaulting, considering the complexity of its movements. Of course, in order to reach the aim of this summary paper, I did not sacrifice both technical and normative substance of the game, but I tried to avoid unnecessary information for a super condensed book about golf.
