Sophia Alba completed her PhD in Biomedical Sciences in 2007 and her MA in Religious Studies in 2009 and since then has dedicated herself to writing. Her interests in Darwin, science and religion were brought together through fictional writing, which allowed for the creative freedom to explore the debates that are often mired in political motivations and voices. Sophia’s fascination with the mysterious is combined with the ‘cool’ rationality of science in The Struggle for Existence, which follows the very human protagonists through the novel. Sophia Alba lives in London. The Struggle for Existence is her debut novel.
