Steven R. Schoner, b. 01/28/1951-- He worked at Lowell Observatory from 1971 to 1974 as an assistant to Norm Thomas and Robert Burnham in the Proper Motion Project, and a tour guide. He earned a degree in philosophy at Northern Arizona University in 1975. A machinist, a National Park Service Ranger, a computer technician, and a public speaker, he was elected to membership in the International Platform Association in 1996. He served as founding member and co-director of the International Meteorite Collector’s Association and is well known for his meteorite interests. Disabled in 2003, after moving the famous Clyde Tombaugh House, he now works part time in Flagstaff, AZ for Petroslides as petrographic slide technician.
