Gary L. Dyson is a Natural Resources graduate from Oregon State University, but also a long time Civil War history buff, Frederick County Civil War Roundtable member, and volunteer at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, Maryland. His first book was "A Civil War Correspondent in New Orleans, the Journals and Reports of Albert Gaius Hills of the Boston Journal," followed by "The Ambush of the Isaac P. Smith." "Confederate Row." "Beyond The Bowie List" and "The Rebels of Frederick County," "Loyal to the Union: The Lives of Frederick County's Men in Blue," and his most recent book, "A House Less Divided: The Civil War Soldiers of Carroll County, Maryland." He has also written church histories for Methodist churches in Mount Airy and Frederick. Gary lives with his wife Emily in Mount Airy, Maryland and is also a Marine Corps veteran..
