SUZAN AVERITT was one of eight LA artists chosen for use of an NEA grant through Otis Parsons and MOCA for her theatrical interpretation of religious street literature. She is a member of DLW, and created and directed plays for legendary LA landmark Al’s Bar (Beat play, GO and Anaïs Nin’s EROTICA). More recently Suzan developed RBITRARY, a mashup of dance/text monologues and dialogues performed in reverse round (audience seated in the center). She originated ACTING FOR ANIMATION, which she has taught in all the major animation studios in Los Angeles , and was Managing Editor and Art Director of the now defunct satirical blog CELEBRITY PORN NAMES. Her 2010 solo work created for the Hollywood Fringe Festival, MARY POPPINS IS A BUTTERFLY, was called “honest and delivered with comedic precision… poetic, provocative, deep and funny…" She was Elizabeth Taylor in Paul McCarthy’s famous Pirate movie (and appears opposite James Franco in a new McCarthy-Franco collaboration).
