I am a mother and grandmother. I live in a small village in upstate NY and teach at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology, where I prepare future teachers of deaf and hard of hearing students. I started writing many years ago and am just now getting around to publishing. My first series is about parenting and takes the approach of a series of short stories much like children's books. Each story explores a different challenge I faced in raising my children, and I hope that it will strike a universal chord in others as well. I am also preparing a new series titled "Ruminations of a Widow." This too will appear as a series of short stories, again using an illustrated allegorical approach to explore the journey of surviving spouses. Look for the first book in early 2012.
