About
Susan Chast
Bio: Poet Susan Chast is originally from upstate New York. She attended Coxsackie-Athens Central School in the mid-Hudson valley before moving to Worcester, MA, to finish high school and earn her BA at Clark University. Concerns for equality and the quality of freedom drew her into the feminist and peace movements of the 1970s and 80s and this activist experience fueled her philosophy of education. Dedicated to participatory education, she earned a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, a Masters in Theater from SUNY Albany and finally, a PhD in Dramatic Art from the University of California at Berkeley. She has taught theater and language arts in community, high school and college venues. Retired now, Susan Chast is luxuriating in time to write. Her first Lulu.com book, like her blog at http://susan60.blogspot.com, is a commitment to boldness and performance.
