I was born in Essex, England, and lived for many years in the border county of Cumbria, close to the English Lake District, before moving to southern Spain in 2009. Here I teach English in the historic city of Granada, a place which is a key inspiration in my writing. My other interests include nature and the environment, gardening, cuisine and Spanish history.
