With more than 25 years of combined experience serving singles in the Christian community, Jodie Schmitz and Lashell Barnes have been called to minister to those who are not married. God brought Jodie and Lashell together in friendship and encouraged them to create The Singles Ministry, which is about Restoring Lives, Rejuvenating Spirits, and Renewing Minds for the single Christian community. Jodie is recognized among singles for the depth of her wisdom, which enables individuals to discern God’s work in their lives and to experience the compassion, graciousness, and nonjudgmental love of the Father. Guided by the Lord’s compassion, she is devoted to helping others pursue lives of purpose and wholeness, whether they marry or not. As a single woman committed to honoring God, Jodie continually seeks His direction to serve and uplift the unmarried community. Jodie desires marriage, yet she faithfully waits on God to bring the spouse He has ordained for her. It was the love of God that drew Lashell away from the ways of the world. Following the heartbreak of yet another failed relationship, she learned from the Lord her value as an unmarried woman of God. During this time, she encountered the depth of God’s love that has kept her from returning to her former way of life. In response, she now considers it a privilege to encourage others to pursue the life and purpose that God has prepared for them. Lashell waits patiently upon the Lord, trusting Him to provide the spouse He has.
