Born and educated in Ireland, Trevor Murray joined the Royal Air Force as a Navigator. He flew worldwide on transport aircraft and did several tours on helicopters. A Hercules Flight Commander during the 1982 Falklands war, he subsequently commanded operations at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus when it was a focal point for deployment and support operations during the first Gulf War. From 1993 to 1995 he was the senior air advisor at the NATO Headquarters in Southern Italy providing air support for UN operations in the former Yugoslavia and was the daily worldwide media briefer during the air campaign that preceded the Dayton Peace Agreement. On leaving the RAF he moved to Cyprus where he now lives with his wife Carol. A determined if erratic golfer, he was founding Secretary of the Cyprus Golf Federation.
