About
Peter Roy

An obsessive compulsive child genius with a Mensa IQ of 176, Peter grew up in a working class ex-mining community in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Depression hit at the age of 18 after Peter got his first ever "B" grade and that depression lasted for the next 4 years while he studied Mathematics and Computer Science at Durham University and slowly came to terms with all of the imperfections in his life. Peter started drawing cartoons in the Autumn of 2006 after reading a book called Brilliant Neuro Linguistic Programming that described a simple but effective technique for dealing with negative thoughts: "Make fun of them." The character Peel - closely based on Peter - gradually evolved from those cartoons and the Twisted Peel website www.twistedpeel.com now receives over 10,000 visitors per month. Peter is 31 years old and works as a freelance project manager and NLP Practitioner. He lives in Oxford with his wife, Amy, and a naughty terrier called Pickle.
