Hi - I'm Ruth Wood, and what you can see here are two of my publications. The biography "In my dreams I'm dancing" was originally written as a diary, as I struggled to cope with the change from a happy career woman to someone who could barely move out of bed without help. I was suffering from a condition called Transverse Myilitis - where the body's immune system literally attacks the myelin sheath around the nerves of the spinal cord and causes damage. Following further attacks the diagnosis changed to recurrent myelitis. The story of that first year was difficult for me to write, but I felt that I wanted to tell people how it really is, not just for me but for the thousands of others around the world who suffer from this lifelong and debilitating condition. The second publication is a collection of many of my poems, written over the years, some never published before, others prize winning entries in various competitions. I hope you like them!!!
